How does this work?

 CRANE MAKING

Every crane is handmade by those of us at Project Sarurun and our volunteers. They come in different sizes and are made from a variety of materials, ranging from washi paper to used wrapping paper. We encourage volunteers to use once used, but still in good condition wrapping paper rather than the pre-cut washi.

MOBILE ASSEMBLING

The cranes are first sorted, arranged, and threaded. These chains of cranes are then fixed onto tiered metal hoops to bring about a chandelier effect. Bells, beads, and pendants are added afterward as decorations.

AUCTIONING

Currently, the chandelier auction takes places once a year during the month of July on eBay. The chandelier is immediately shipped at the end of the transaction. This stage is crucial to the success of the project, and we encourage you to participate.

DONATION

Within two weeks of the transaction, the money received is donated to a designated charity. To learn more about this charity or to suggest one of your own, click here
