Project Sarurun is a philanthropic art project inspired by the story of Sadako and the 1000 Paper Cranes. It is dedicated to raising awareness for children in need around the world, and the organizations that help them. Every year, we gather to make one thousand paper cranes and string them together into a chandelier. This chandelier is then auctioned, with its proceeds donated in its entirety to a selected charity that aids children in need.
We are not a registered organization. We are simply a group of people who believe that it takes small and accumulated efforts to obtain lasting change.
Here at Project Sarurun we work to create annual chandeliers, offer assistance to non-profits, and try to educate both ourselves and our communities about the many and varied hardships children face around the world. Most importantly, we learn about how these problems are engaged and resolved.
Join our project and commit to become part of the solution.
Due to real life reasons, 2010's chandelier is taking a lot longer than we'd anticipated it to. Current anticipated completion month is April, and we will work our hardest to make that a reality--because face it, 2011's chandelier is already in its folding progress. Nevertheless, we will get the chandelier up and ready for auction as soon as possible, and our sponsored organization will be up soon as well. Stay tuned!
Felix is currently in its assembling process. Pictures to come.
